Martin Scullion - Partner

"My expertise helps clients to ensure they’re compliant in both the US and the UK, pay the right tax at the right time, and maximise benefits from any tax reliefs available."

Martin joined Buzzacott in 2007 and is a Partner in our Expatriate Tax Services team.

Martin is a dual qualified US and UK tax adviser, who looks after a wide range of clients with US/UK tax issues. He has an established portfolio of clients that come from a wide range of backgrounds that include non-doms, US citizens, US green card holders and US residents.

Martin also acts as an adviser to a number of trust companies, providing US/UK tax advice and compliance services to trustees, settlors and beneficiaries of offshore trusts. He helps clients to manage the risk of US tax and with US informational reporting requirements, as well as advising on anti-avoidance issues including Controlled Foreign Corporations and Passive Foreign Investment Companies.

Martin co-ordinates closely with Buzzacott’s Private Client, Corporate Tax and Financial Planning teams to ensure that his clients receive the most comprehensive possible service. He is known to offer clients prompt, practical and price effective advice, and he enjoys meeting with clients and getting to know them.

Martin leads on the technical content produced on the firm’s website relating to US/UK tax matters, including our Stepping Stones series, and contributes to the team’s technical policy decisions and material technical communications to the team.

Outside of work, Martin enjoys a jog along the coastline or in Hove Park, spending time with his family, and when the opportunity arises, the occasional game of poker.
