We are delighted to have provided financial due diligence and transaction services to Darwin Alternatives on its acquisition of Memoria Group.

Darwin Alternatives, the manager of the Darwin Bereavement Services Fund, which owns and operates six GreenAcres cemeteries and ceremonial parks, has acquired Memoria Group, which includes Low Cost Funeral Limited. We worked with Darwin Alternatives to provide financial due diligence and transaction services on the acquisition. 

The Memoria Group is the UK’s third largest developer and operator of private crematoria and memorial parks. It’s entity, Low Cost Funeral Limited, is the country’s largest supplier of online, fulfilled direct cremation and attended funeral fixed price packages, as well as a major supplier of prearranged funeral plan products.

We were pleased to work so closely with the team at Darwin Alternatives and are delighted to have achieved the final outcome. It was interesting working on the Low Cost Funeral entity which has taken a leading role in acting as an online funeral director and offering prearranged funeral plan products, and overall improving the UK funeral sector. 

Memoria is a transformational acquisition for our DBS Fund and we are hugely grateful for the support that Buzzacott provided to this transaction. Matt, Alex and the rest of the team were professional throughout the process and their dedicated and flexible approach allowed the transaction to complete under a tight timescale.
