Philip Wicksteed - Head of Company Secretarial

Philip joined Buzzacott in 2017 and is Head of Company Secretarial in our Corporate Business Services team. 

Philip and his team provide company secretarial expertise to large groups, firms in the finance sector and companies that have raised equity finance. He supports clients with a broad range of company secretarial services covering everything from share capital and Companies House compliance to director decision-making. Notable engagements have included:

• Company secretarial support for two companies with over a thousand shareholders each.
• Regular board support for a range of clients including a joint venture in the life sciences sector and a large donor-advised foundation.
• Share incentive plan (SIP) support.
• Advising on matters where there is a significant overlap between company law and accounting including dividends, returns of capital and subsidiary audit exemptions.

Philip works closely with our corporate tax and accountancy teams when planning a transaction to ensure that every aspect is considered. 

Prior to joining Buzzacott, Philip worked for Olswang, an international law firm specialising in tech and media (now part of CMS). He is an associate of the Chartered Governance Institute. 

Outside of work, Philip does youth work and enjoys playing the guitar with his two daughters.
