Darren Aldrich

Darren is a member of Buzzacott's Executive Committee and leads the firm's market-leading VAT practice. Since joining Buzzacott in 1998, he has spent more than two decades helping businesses, charities and international groups navigate complex indirect tax challenges, while playing a key role in the growth and development of the firm's VAT and international trade offering.

VAT and indirect tax

Darren advises clients across a broad range of sectors on VAT strategy, risk management and compliance. His expertise includes land and property transactions, partial exemption, international supplies of goods and services, VAT registration and the indirect tax issues facing international businesses, charities and not-for-profit organisations.

Darren combines strong technical expertise with commercially practical advice, regularly supporting businesses trading across multiple jurisdictions and resolving the VAT issues that arise from increasingly complex global supply chains.

International trade and cross-border solutions

As Managing Director of Fiscal Solutions Limited and Fiscal IOR Limited, Darren helps develop practical international trade and importer-of-record solutions that support businesses importing and exporting goods across Europe and beyond. His experience spanning both advisory and operational environments gives clients a unique perspective on managing indirect tax and international trade risks.

As a long-standing member and former board member of the International VAT Association, Darren maintains close relationships with advisers and industry leaders worldwide. He is also an Associate of the Institute of Indirect Taxation (CTA) and a Fellow of the Association of Accounting Technicians.
