Carl is an ACA-qualified professional with over 12 years’ experience in external statutory audit, having previously worked at a Big Four firm. He works with a diverse portfolio of clients across the Charity and Not-for-Profit sector, including housing associations, charities, academy trusts, higher education institutions, and membership organisations.
Carl specialises in social housing and is an active member of the Buzzacott social housing forum, delivering internal and external training, sharing expertise and liaises with housing regulators several times a year. He also has significant experience in the higher education sector, where he has supported clients with complex areas such as consolidations, international components, and US GAAP conversion audit engagements for institutions exceeding relevant thresholds.
He leads external audit and assurance engagements from planning through to completion, working closely with finance teams and boards to deliver high-quality outcomes. In addition to audit, Carl provides clients with broader advisory support tailored to their needs.
Alongside his client responsibilities, Carl plays a key role in developing the firm’s housing and education offerings. He is committed to building strong client relationships, supporting the development of junior team members, and ensuring audits are delivered efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
