Today we are proud to publish our 2025-26 ESG report, covering the period from 1 April 2025 to 30 March 2026.
The report brings together all we have achieved to support our people, our community and the environment, alongside the governance that underpins how we work. Highlights include:
Supporting our communities
The Buzzacott Stuart Defries Memorial Fund has supported small charities working with children and young people in and around the City of London since 2003. This year, its trustees awarded £128,468 in grants to 35 charities, up from £101.3k the previous year, including funding for an advice and advocacy service in Tower Hamlets and weekly football sessions for young people in Haggerston.
215 of our team members volunteered 1,274.5 hours, almost twice as many people than in 2024, with organisations including Bow Foodbank, Cook for Good and Trees for Cities.
Investing in our people
We invested over £1 million in training and development, and were ranked 30th in the Sunday Times Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers. We now have 51 trained Mental Health First Aiders and 12 staff networks, who led 19 events during the year.
Reducing our environmental footprint
Our energy use fell by 9% and our water use by 27%, through practical changes such as shorter air-conditioning hours and upgraded water fittings. We continue to use 100% renewable electricity and have sent zero waste to landfill since 2011.
We also shifted the emphasis of our partnership with Ecologi towards UK nature restoration, funding 1,502 trees and restoring 313.5m² of wetland and wildflower habitat.
Building on strong governance
Compliance, ethics and data security have long been central to how we work. This year we gained Cyber Essentials Plus certification and are now pursuing ISO 27001, the global standard for information security management.
These highlights are just a snapshot of this year’s progress. We would love for you to read the full report to learn more.
