Chris joined Buzzacott in 1998 and is a Senior Manager in our Expatriate Tax Services team.
He works mainly with UK resident US citizens, including business owners, employees, partners and investors, helping them to navigate tax law complexity and compliance with timely US and UK tax advice and return preparation to optimise their worldwide taxes.
Chris’ areas of specialist knowledge include US foreign trust distribution issues (DNI and UNI), passive foreign investment company issues and US tax reporting for individuals with non-US companies or partnership interests.
Chris and the team carry out all aspects of personal US and UK tax return preparation, including additional US reporting requirements for individuals owning companies, rental properties, trusts, partnerships and charitable entities. They also assist with the various requirements when giving up US citizenship or permanent resident status, and can advise non-US individuals on their obligations with regards to any US income they receive.
Chris aims to be clients’ trusted partner, there to provide comprehensive and personal advice on US and UK income, capital gains, inheritance, gift and estate tax issues, before they arise. He often works with Buzzacott’s Private Client team where there are UK trust-related issues, and the Financial Planning team who can deal with some of the unique problems facing US taxpayers in the UK.
Chris is ATT and EA (US) qualified. Outside of the office he enjoys music and video games.
