There are other important dates that you may need to be aware of, but here are some of the key US and UK tax deadlines to consider over the next few months.
30 December 2018: Taxpayers with UK tax liabilities of less than £3,000 can electronically file their tax return by this date and request that the tax be collected via a PAYE coding adjustment for the 2019/20 tax year.
16 January 2019: Final instalments of 2018 US estimated taxes due.
31 January 2019: 2017/18 UK tax return electronic filing deadline.
15 March 2019: US Partnership and Trust returns deadline. Extension can also apply to 17 September.
5 April 2019: End of the UK tax year 2018/19 – consider planning before this date.
17 April 2019: Foreign Bank Account Reports (FBAR/FinCen Form 114) –these can be extended to 15 October 2019.
17 April 2019: Individual Income Tax return filing deadline (automatic two month extension to 15 June 2019 applies to taxpayers living overseas). Extension can also apply. First instalment of 2019 US estimated taxes due.
