With over 30 years’ experience in VAT, in both ‘big four’ and smaller accountancy firms, Linda has worked in VAT areas as diverse as financial services, land and property, and charities. She advises on all areas of VAT but specialises in the not for profit sector, particularly arts, museums and cultural organisations. Linda has expertise in land and property issues, capital projects, education, partial exemption and VAT recovery, as well as in handling VAT disputes with HMRC.
Linda is a member of the Chartered Institute of Tax’s Indirect Tax Technical Committee, and in that role regularly attends the Joint VAT Consultancy Committee (JVCC), an HMRC-sponsored forum to exchange views between HMRC and representative organisations relating to the procedures and operations of VAT. She is also a member of the VAT Practitioners Group and writes regularly on VAT issues.
Outside of the office Linda enjoys music, attending concerts and exhibitions, and sings in a London chamber choir. She is a keen hiker in the Surrey countryside at weekends, and when time allows, in the Lake District, Yorkshire and Snowdonia.
