Michael joined Buzzacott in 2019 and is a Manager in our Expatriate Tax Services team.
Michael typically works with high-net-worth US individuals, partners and sole traders. He assists them with their annual US and UK tax compliance with the IRS and HMRC, as well as providing bespoke advice around tax planning opportunities. His overall aim is to maximise clients’ tax efficiency, wherever possible.
Falling into both the UK and US tax jurisdictions presents many challenges. To ensure that clients aren’t faced with double taxation and that their tax compliance is not a burden for them, Michael and his team prioritise the need to remain informed on the ever-evolving landscape of tax.
Michael works collaboratively with our Corporate Tax team to advise on both the personal tax for partners and other business owners, and corporate tax for their organisations. He also works with our Tax Investigations team to help clients with any disclosures they need to make or to deal with HMRC enquiries.
Michael has spent some time working in our Hong Kong office. The trip helped him to broaden his US and UK tax expertise by supporting a variety of clients who face different challenges to our London clients.
Michael is a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) and Enrolled Agent (EA).
Prior to Buzzacott, Michael studied German and Economics at university.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys socialising with friends, seeking out the best Guinness that London has to offer, brushing up on his German fluency, and taking trips to The Emirates to watch Arsenal play.
