Ogonna Agwa - Manager

“I enjoy getting to know my clients and understanding what they want to achieve. Whether it’s purchasing a home, selling a business, or planning for the future. My satisfaction comes from helping them do just that – in the most tax efficient way possible.”

Ogonna joined Buzzacott in 2019 and is a Manager in our Private Client team.

She specialises in advising high net worth non-UK domiciled individuals on the tax implications of leaving or coming to live in the UK, providing them with careful tax planning advice allowing them to use the remittance basis effectively.

The new 30 day Capital Gains Tax reporting rules have been challenging for clients who are selling residential property. In addition to advising them ahead of time so they’re aware of what to expect, Ogonna ensures calculations are prepared and submitted to HMRC in a timely manner. She and the team advise on: residence and domicile reviews, offshore account segregation and mixed fund analysis, international moves and global mobility, Private Residence Relief (PRR), Income Tax and CGT reliefs and Inheritance Tax, as well as assisting with self-assessment tax returns.

Ogonna works closely with Buzzacott’s Trust, Tax Investigations, Corporate, Financial Planning and Expatriate Tax teams enabling her to seamlessly provide clients with a joined up service that meets their specific requirements.

She is ATT and CTA qualified and started her personal tax career at PwC and was there for almost seven years. There, she worked closely with high net worth individuals, CEOs, non-UK domiciles and internationally mobile employees to assist them with their tax affairs.

Away from her desk Ogonna enjoys visiting museums and going to see plays and musicals at the theatre. She’s also a qualified Les Mills Instructor and teaches fitness classes in gyms across London during her spare time.
