Mohammad joined Buzzacott in 2018 and is an Assistant Manager in our VAT Consultancy team.
He provides a wide range of services including VAT reviews, structuring advice in order to avoid any VAT leakage, Making Tax Digital implementation and submission of VAT returns, MOSS Returns and EC Sales list. Mohammad also carries out business and non-business and partial exemption calculations and Capital Goods Scheme adjustments, assists with HMRC inspections and reviews current recovery methods, setting up partial exemption special methods where required.
Mohammad prides himself on being an approachable advisor who communicates complex VAT issues clearly and concisely to his clients and helps to ensure their VAT compliance requirements are met. He identifies the VAT consequences of clients’ complex transactions and delivers genuinely useful solutions for VAT accounting. Mohammad supports a variety of clients from charities, academies and colleges, to financial services businesses and tech start-ups.
Prior to joining Buzzacott, Mohammad was a VAT Officer in the Wealthy and Mid-Sized Business Compliance team at HMRC. His role included, testing the VAT liability of businesses supplies, educating businesses on VAT using legislation and tribunal decisions where necessary, influencing business behaviour towards compliance and testing the audit trial to assess companies’ VAT accounting systems.
Outside of Buzzacott, Mohammad enjoys working out at the gym and martial arts, and is an avid basketball fan.
