Jon supports a wide range of not-for-profit organisations, including academies and colleges, religious orders, social enterprises and membership bodies. He helps his clients navigate through a broad range of tax risks in respect of their activities, as well as identifying tax relief opportunities.
Jon and the wider Charity tax team regularly assist clients with charitable company and trust tax returns, property transactions, charitable trading and structuring business activities, Gift Aid and other tax efficient giving, employment tax, mutual trading, theatre tax relief and other creative industry reliefs.
He and the Charity tax team also work closely with Buzzacott VAT Consultancy, the Corporate tax team and HR Consultancy to offer clients a joined up service offering.
In addition, Jon regularly writes updates and commentary on tax developments relevant to the charity sector and also hosts a wide range of seminars to various charity groups.
When Jon joined Buzzacott he trained as an auditor with the Charity team before moving over to tax. Prior to this he worked as an English teacher in Japan for two years.
Beyond his desk, Jon is an avid traveller, enjoys hiking and is a black belt in karate.
