Howard joined Buzzacott in 2016 as a graduate and is now a Manager in our Private Client team.
He works largely with professional practices and their business owners, providing both tax compliance and advisory services to the firm and the owners personally. He also works with high net worth individuals, both UK resident and domiciled as well as non-domiciled.
Howard’s specialism is the tax implications of transactions for both businesses and their owners. And he uses his experience across both areas of tax to provide complete tax advice for all relevant parties.
On the business tax side, he regularly assists clients on the availability of capital allowances, structuring profit allocations and profit extraction for directors and shareholders.
On the personal tax side, he works with new and retiring partners on the tax implications of joining and leaving a partnership, the taxation of property, share schemes and the sale of their business. He also regularly advises on optimising available tax reliefs from pensions through to Enterprise Investment Schemes.
Due to the nature of his clients, Howard works closely with many other teams in the firm, including Financial Planning to assist with any investment advice, the Corporate teams when dealing with businesses and their owners’ tax compliance and advice. And he also works with the Tax Investigations team when clients receive enquiries from HMRC.
Howard is both ATT and CTA qualified and away from his desk he plays golf and is a general sports fan.
