Georgia Russell - Manager

Georgia Russell joined Buzzacott in 2018 and is now a manager within Charity and Not-for-Profit team. 

Georgia specialises in serving the not-for-profit sector, focusing on charities, educational institutions, membership organisations, and youth organisations. She has specialised in public sector, not for profit and charity audit since commencing her career and joined Buzzacott in September 2018, following her qualification as a Chartered Accountant in 2017. 

Georgia addresses the key challenges faced by clients in a tough economic climate, including rising costs amid strained income sources and staff recruitment and retention issues. Her approach involves providing practical advice on budgeting, forecasting, and process controls. She offers valuable insights tailored to each client's operational style, enabling them to enhance efficiency while maintaining robust controls. 

As an audit manager, Georgia is the primary point of contact year-round, offering ad hoc guidance and overseeing the audit process from start to finish. She also manages internal audit projects, collaborating with sector specialists to enhance systems and controls. Additionally, Georgia delivers training on various topics, including academy accounts preparation and software usage, bolstering the team's expertise. Her experience extends to bookkeeping and accounting assignments, granting her an in-depth understanding of finance teams' day-to-day operations. This enables her to provide practical recommendations and address process queries effectively. 

Beyond her role, Georgia serves as a Mental Health First Aider, providing crucial support to peers, the charity team, and the wider firm. She has a passion for music, spanning various genres and fuels her love by attending gigs and festivals.
