Graduate training programmes.

We’re determined to attract - and keep - the very best students. Your presence is vitally important to us, and a big part of the reason we continue to perform as a first-class consulting firm.

Whether you’re a trainee or already a team member, we’ll offer you the right kind of opportunities and challenges to help you develop. Scroll down to read more about our ACA audit trainee programme, tax consultant trainee programme and financial planning training programme.

ACA Audit Trainees

Our ACA trainees start in one of two teams. Work with our Charity and Not-for-Profit audit team and learn how to advise and support charitable organisations. Or join our Corporate and Business Services team where - unlike at many other firms - you’ll encounter a truly broad spectrum of companies, from SMEs to multinational corporations. Whichever client base you opt for, you study towards the ACA qualification.

Buzzacott is a member of training consortium SWAT UK whose courses are designed to help you get the most out of your practical experience. When you join us as a graduate, your contract includes a fully-supervised 36-month training programme for the ACA - the ICAEW chartered accountancy qualification.

You’ll work with a top firm of external tutors on a closely monitored and structured programme which involves:

  • Training at tutors’ offices
  • Regular tests
  • On-the-job training
  • Paid study leave
  • Exam fees for first attempts

From the start, one of our managers will be your mentor, to support your professional and personal development and keep track of your ICAEW exam progress. Feel free to discuss issues or request guidance from them and other Buzzacott partners and senior staff, as well as your SWAT UK tutors.

Tax Consultant Trainees

Fancy wrapping your brain around a fascinating range of business and client types, not just across the UK but worldwide? Think about trying your hand at tax.

Buzzacott offers graduates like you a fully-supervised training programme which runs over 36-42 months, depending on which team you join. Choose from these options:

  • Private Client: As a new team member, you work towards the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) and Chartered Institute of Taxation (CTA) qualifications while helping clients with their individual and family wealth. This gives you the chance to work across everything from investment portfolios, property and business to on- and offshore trusts.
  • Corporate Tax: New joiners in this team have the unique opportunity to gain not one but two chartered qualifications over 42 months: the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) and the ACA qualification provided by the ICAEW.
  • Expatriate Tax: As a trainee in this team you take the ATT qualification and Enrolled Agent training to fully qualify in both UK and US taxation. This can be a great investment in your future career, as being a qualified ‘dual-handler’ makes you highly desirable in the expat tax market.

You’ll work with a top firm of external tutors on a closely monitored, well-structured programme involving:

  • Training at tutors’ offices
  • Regular progression tests
  • On-the-job training
  • Paid study leave

Financial Planning Trainees

Join our booming Financial Planning team and learn how to help all kinds of clients - from individuals and families to global organisations - design their ideal financial future.

You’ll work towards the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualification over 30 months, with a manager by your side as your mentor, as well as access to partners and senior staff. Over the course of the contract, you gain the qualifications and experience you need to become a financial planner, or to take on other technical support roles.

A professional training company works with us to run and monitor your tuition, which includes:

  • On-the-job experience
  • Internal training
  • Online instruction
  • Regular exams

And when your training ends, our support doesn’t. To encourage your ongoing development, we do all we can to provide you with the same opportunities on offer to the entire financial planning team.
