Here are some of the key US and UK tax deadlines to consider over the next few months.
30 December 2019: Taxpayers with UK tax liabilities of less than £3,000 can electronically file their tax return by this date and request that the tax be collected via a PAYE coding adjustment for the 2019/20 tax year.
15 January 2020: Final instalments of 2019 US estimated taxes due.
31 January 2020: 2018/19 UK tax return electronic filing deadline.
16 March 2020: US Partnership and Trust returns deadline. Extension can also apply to 15 September.
5 April 2020: End of the UK tax year 2019/20 – consider planning before this date.
15 April 2020: Foreign Bank Account Reports (FBAR/FinCen Form 114) – these can be extended to 15 October 2020.
15 April 2020: Individual Income Tax return filing deadline (automatic two month extension to 15 June 2020 applies to taxpayers living overseas). Extension can also apply. First instalment of 2020 US estimated taxes due.
