20 June 2019
Whether it’s with direct reports, a project team or other stakeholder, the way that a manager interacts with others has a big impact on their overall effectiveness. ‘Managing others’ focuses on understanding the skills and attributes that make an effective 'people manager' and how a change in mindset can help you to develop those attributes for yourself. We hone in on the key traits of management style and coaching and how they can be further developed.
At the end of this session you will:
- Understand the behaviours which will improve your effectiveness as a people manager.
- Realise the importance of coaching in managing people and learn how to structure effective coaching conversations.
- Understand different management styles and the benefits of flexing between them.
Many people who manage and supervise others have taken on these roles through natural progression. Buzzacott's New Manager Pathway fills that gap between technical expertise and people management capability.
This programme is endorsed by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) as a development programme, and is designed to help delegates acquire the skills and confidence they need to fulfill their roles as supervisory managers. Successful completion of the full programme and assessment will give delegates the opportunity to achieve an ILM endorsed accreditation.
