Mary Hase

Mary is a Director in the Private Client team. She specialises in providing accountancy and taxation advice to testators, trustees and executors, and their beneficiaries.

In advising clients on making their wills Mary deals with the family side as well as the inheritance tax planning. She has a varied portfolio of personal tax, trust and estate clients and acts as executor and trustee. She also advises on powers of attorney and acts as attorney or deputy for the Court of Protection.

Although her advice is primarily tax focused, it is not purely technical. She is very much aware that the practical aspects of running trusts, coping with mental incapacity or dealing with HMRC have a bearing on how that advice will impact on clients’ lives.

Mary qualified first as a Chartered Accountant and then as a Chartered Tax Adviser. She was formerly a partner in Smith & Williamson, and joined Buzzacott in 2010.
