Online filing of VAT Returns
Thursday 25th February 2010
From 1 April 2010 the system for filing VAT returns in the UK will change. For VAT periods starting on or after this date, newly VAT registered entities and any business or not-for-profit organisation which is already registered for VAT and has a turnover of £100,000 and above will be required to file their VAT returns on-line and pay any VAT due electronically.
HMRC's advice is to register sooner rather than later to avoid the last minute rush.
For clients of Buzzacott LLP who use our services for filing their VAT returns, we are currently in the process of setting up the on-line format and payment procedures with HMRC.
Anyone who submits their own VAT returns but needs assistance can contact us and we will be able to advise on the process to be undertaken to file and submit on-line.
Further information in relation to this subject can be found on the HMRC website www.hmrc.gov.uk/vat/vat-online/moving.htm
