Measuring the Impact of your Corporate Social Responsibility Programme
Monday 28th May 2012
Public perception of corporate and social responsibility has shifted. It is no longer considered an optional requirement to the existing corporate strategy; due to stakeholder interests it must be fully integrated with company activity, and with employee values at all levels. However, forming the business case for actively engaging your employees when funding is limited can be difficult. AngelPoints is able to provide a solution.
Buzzacott Giving Solutions’ (BGS) long running partner MicroEdge LLC, have recently acquired AngelPoints, after the realisation that many of the 2400 organisations that use their existing grant-management software, also wanted to positively engage their employees, and increase their participation in volunteering and sustainability programmes as a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy.
For the past 10 years, AngelPoints has supported some of the world’s largest and most respected companies. Today, the company’s easy-to-use solutions serve more than 70 corporations, employing more than 2 million employees globally.
The fully hosted, web-based integrated solution provides the tools to have a positive impact on employees, the company and the wider community by mobilising the collective power of all employees. This allows for a stronger focus on the impact and value of a company’s CSR initiatives by reducing the resources required to manage such a programme, and increasing the overall efficiency.
The proposition covers three aspects; volunteering, sustainability and giving, all of which aim to engage employees. For example the giving element could help to inspire workplace philanthropy by making it possible for all to participate with minimal effort. Employees can enrol in payroll giving, and it also provides the opportunity for organisations to respond instantly to disasters around the world, providing essential donations as quickly as possible.
AngelPoints’ user interface allows for easier interaction with employees, not only with regards to communicating the opportunities available, but also to provide visual real-time reporting on the results of their combined efforts. Demonstrating the collective impact and success increases motivation and encourages future participation. Targeted internal communications can increase employee participation at volunteering events and has been proven to draw participants to 95% of promoted events.
MicroEdge LLC, in collaboration with BGS, are providing an opportunity for organisations to implement 360° CSR reporting.
Anthony de Lacey, Chairman of Buzzacott LLP, and Managing Director of Giving Solutions, was delighted; “Our Corporate clients told us they wanted to simplify the management of all their philanthropic programs. By bringing together two market leaders – the best in grant management, and the best in employee engagement – we are able to provide clients with one partner that can meet their CSR needs. We are pleased to offer AngelPoints to UK-based corporations, with or without worldwide group members.”
Buzzacott LLP will be the first user of the AngelPoints system to measure the impact of its own volunteer and sustainability programmes, in order for the BGS team to have a complete understanding of the proposition.
