Law firm adopts time recording app

Thursday 9th June 2011

City law firm Lewis Silkin LLP has chosen IntApp Time Builder to improve time recording practices.

Lewis Silkin opted for the application as part of an IT initiative to enhance key business software throughout the company. It will be used by lawyers to reveal potential gaps in time capture.

Jan Durant, director of IT & Operations, Lewis Silkin LLP, said: "We saw IntApp Time Builder as a major advance which could enhance our existing systems."

The software helps firms to increase revenues by capturing billable time that is missed or under-billed.

It provides free-earners with an accurate, consolidated journal of client/matter-related activity, which has been generated by automatically monitoring the key applications used throughout the day.

Tracked systems include document creation email, calendar, phone and mobile devices.

"We arranged for the departmental finance partners to see a demonstration of the Time Builder product, and immediately they saw a product which could not only add value to our current systems, but also one which should save each of them many hours per year in administrative time," added Durant. "The management board made the unanimous decision to deploy Time Builder a few days later."
