AIM News: JSJS agrees deal with Electrium

Thursday 12th May 2011

JSJS Designs, the AIM-listed specialists in the design, development and manufacture of home automation systems, has signed a deal that will see its products re-sold under the Siemens brand.

The agreement with Electrium Sales, the UK consumer electronics division of Siemens, will see its light switches, dimmers and mains power sockets sold into B&Q and ScrewFix owner, the Kingfisher Group.

The announcement of the deal saw shares in JSJS spike after a flurry of investor interest led to gains of almost 30% before falling back.

JSJS will receive an advance of £300,000 as part of the three-year deal, which includes an option to extend, and it will also get a significant royalty fee for the licensed products.

The Aston-based firm said the deal is the culmination of two years of talks, which saw Siemens selecting products from a range of items within the JSJS technology portfolio.

The products enable users to operate household appliances like lights, heating, video and security systems remotely via an iPhone or other smartphone applications. The products can help older and vulnerable people live more independently and also cut down on energy usage and its associated costs.
