Agency workers acquired additional rights at the end of 2011
Tuesday 17th January 2012
The end of 2011 marked a dramatic extension of agency workers’ rights – including pay and conditions – if they have been working in the same role, for the same employer, since October 2011.
Such workers now qualify for the same entitlements as the employers’ permanent staff in respect of pay – including some bonus or voucher arrangements – working hours and annual leave.
Pregnant agency workers, who qualify under the time and role criteria, will be entitled to paid time away from their assignment for ante-natal commitments.
If you have not already done so, you should contact your recruitment consultant to agree how you can work together to ensure compliance with the new rules.
