Guidance Note for Religious Order Trustees
Many religious Order charities have decided to change their constitution to that of a company limited by guarantee or other corporate body which protects trustees from being pursued personally for the charity’s debts and firmly establishes the charity as resident in the UK. Those that have not yet changed may wish to do so in the short to medium term.
In this fourth of our occasional Guidance Notes, produced jointly with solicitors Stone King, Buzzacott's Managing Partner Amanda Francis addresses how that "incorporation" is best achieved and other advantages of corporate status.
