Personal effectiveness
Improving your effectiveness at work is a continuous discipline. To do this you will need to consider many factors: how you present yourself, how you shape the expectations of others, how you manage your time and how you deal with feedback (both positive and negative). In this workshop we'll be looking at key factors that make a truly effective individual and how to develop an improvement roadmap.
Conversations in colour
People are different from you! This shouldn't be surprising in business but often it is. Understanding how personality types differ will help you consider how you work with individuals who think differently to you. Understanding their preferences and needs will allow you to plan for effective and influential conversations. Taking the best traits from each personality type models categorised into colours, we explore influencing strategies for you to explore and develop.
Positive influencing
Influencing in a positive way can be difficult for many. Sometimes you might come across as aggressive and forceful when putting forward your thoughts and needs, making it less likely that people will be open to your ideas and initiatives. Together we will look at the various ways we can influence others and take away a practical tool kit of techniques to practice.
Career conversations
More and more the emphasis on who manages an employee’s career is moving from the organisation to the individual. As career pathways become less clear in this increasingly dynamic marketplace, the role of managers and HR professionals in supporting individuals in directing their own careers has become more important. In this session you will explore how to plan and manage this type of conversation. We also explore from the other side - what the employee needs to do to get the best out of these meetings.
The ultimate goal of the morning is to give you some new personal skills to take away as well as hints and tips on how you can boost organisational performance by implementing what you learn.
