New Manager Pathway: Managing teams

Module 3 will help delegates develop their confidence in managing teams.

The whole is greater than the sum of its component parts. Or at least it is when all of the parts are working together toward the same goal. However, managing the dynamics within Groups and Teams is challenging. ‘Managing Teams’ will help you to manage change within teams, understand the differences that exist within teams and know how to unlock high performance within the groups and teams that you work with.

At the end of this session you will:

  • Know the difference between teams and groups
  • Understand how to build effective teams
  • Know how to link individual and team objective to the organisations strategy
  • Identify the types of people found within successful teams.
  • Know how to manage difference within teams.
  • Learn how to unlock high performance

Many people who manage and supervise others have taken on these roles through natural progression. Buzzacott's New Manager Pathway fills that gap between technical expertise and people management capability.

This programme is endorsed by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) as a development programme, and is designed to help delegates acquire the skills and confidence they need to fulfill their roles as supervisory managers. Successful completion of the full programme and assessment will give delegates the opportunity to achieve an ILM endorsed accreditation.

This module can be undertaken separately or as part of the full ILM endorsed New Manager Pathway, allowing each delegate to tailor the training to their individual development needs.
