David Fardell Managing Director of BGS David joined Buzzacott in 2003 and is Managing Director of Buzzacott Giving Solutions. BGS is a solution consultancy focused on assisting charitable giving and is the UK and European provider of GIFTS™ grant-making software, implementation and customer support. Its clients include charities and foundations, local authorities, research organisations, social aid organisations and Livery Companies and are based not only in the UK but all over Europe and the Middle East. GIFTS™ is the core of BGS’ offering, but the team has the skills to assist its clients with overall IT strategy, business-process re-engineering, workflow and efficiency, reporting and data consultancy. David himself has more than twenty years’ experience in IT, finance and operations, and before taking over leadership of BGS headed up Buzzacott’s Finance & Administration teams (and was a Director of BGS). In that role, he oversaw considerable workflow and systems redesign and change management projects and is able to provide advice that goes well beyond the technical and considers clients’ organisations as a whole. He continues to lead the group’s IT and facilities provision and participates in several industry forums on IT and business strategy. On the charities side, David assists the trustees of the Buzzacott Stuart Defries Memorial Fund as well as being involved on the Firm’s behalf with the charity New Horizons. Outside Buzzacott, he was until recently the long-standing chair of Governors of a local primary school and is a passionate skier, hill walker and lover of the outdoors and high places. He is lead clarinettist in a community military band and taxi driver and banker to his two teenage daughters.
